National Capital Fencers Club
St. Augustine Catholic School
1421 V St. NW Washington, D.C. 20009
In 2012, the National Capital Fencers Club (NCFC) opened for instruction at St. Augustine Catholic School in Washington, D.C. Since opening our doors, we have introduced the sport of fencing to hundreds of kids, parents, teachers, school administrators, and many interested persons, some of whom had no idea of what was fencing. During the past nine years, we have held weekly classes for over 450 St. Augustine students, at no cost to them.
The NCFC is one of only three fencing clubs in Washington, D.C. and is located in the heart of our nation's capital. The NCFC also has the distinction of being the only non-profit fencing club in the Washington metropolitan area. As a member of the Capitol Division of the US Fencing Association, we provide instruction in recreational and competitive fencing. We participate in many local and national competitions which bring positive exposure and experience to the youth of this community. This saber-only club is open for membership to all area students and adults with monthly fees among the lowest in the country (no monthly contract required). With a strong focus on obtaining and maintaining a high academic standard and balancing athletics with academics, we ask that student fencers be willing to dedicate time to the club and to their academic responsibilities. Adult students must be willing to commit their time in an effort to learn the sport properly.
